In the quiet town of Ledyard, near Aurora, New York, a heartbreaking event unfolded that left the community in shock and sorrow. On March 8, 2016, 74-year-old Diane E. LaPorta and her 81-year-old husband, Vincent C. LaPorta, were found unresponsive in their home on Dixon Road. The couple, who were on the cusp of celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary the very next day, had both suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
