On July 20, 2023, at approximately 3:40 a.m., 38-year-old Jasmin Figueroa was fatally shot outside her residence on Greene Avenue near Marcus Garvey Boulevard in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The assailant, identified as her 50-year-old ex-fiancé and father of her children, confronted Figueroa and her 44-year-old current boyfriend as they were about to enter a vehicle.
