In the early morning hours of October 28, 2022, a grim discovery was made on a quiet street in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Inside a parked car at the corner of Crown Street and Franklin Avenue, police found 44-year-old Tracey Alicia Samaroo, a female resident of East Flatbush, who had been fatally shot in the head.
Lying on the ground next to the vehicle was a 42-year-old man, also deceased from a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted.
Investigators at the scene recovered a firearm, leading them to believe the tragic event was a murder-suicide. Law enforcement officials stated that they believed the two individuals were in a romantic relationship and the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
While Tracey Samaroo was publicly identified, the name of the man involved was not immediately released by the authorities as the investigation continued into the circumstances that led to the violent and tragic end of two lives.
