On May 27, 2024, Tanezia Dareena Blockwood, a 29-year-old female, was tragically killed in her Brooklyn, New York apartment. The events leading to her death unfolded after a night of arguments with her 35-year-old boyfriend, Teddy Knight. The couple, who lived together with their two children and Knight's mother, had a history of disputes concerning money and their children.
The verbal altercations that began the night before continued into the morning.
The argument escalated, and Knight retrieved a handgun. In a violent outburst witnessed by his own mother, Knight shot Blockwood multiple times. After shooting Blockwood, Knight then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life in a murder-suicide.
Police responded to a 911 call around 10:00 AM and discovered both Tanezia Blockwood and Teddy Knight deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds to the head. Given the circumstances of a murder-suicide, no arrests were made in connection with Blockwood's death as the perpetrator was also deceased. The investigation confirmed that Knight was the sole person responsible for the death of Tanezia Dareena Blockwood.
