Irma Fran Lozada, a 25-year-old New York City Transit Police officer, tragically lost her life on September 21, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York. Lozada, known as "Fran," was patrolling the BMT Canarsie Line in plainclothes with her partner when she witnessed a suspect, Darryl Jeter, snatch a necklace from a subway passenger.
