Limose Dort, a 54-year-old mother of four, tragically lost her life on August 19, 2021, in Brooklyn, New York. Dort was commuting home from work when she was struck by stray bullets near her residence in the Crown Heights neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on St. John's Place. Dort was found with two gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. A 30-year-old man was also injured in the shooting but survived.
