Mark Reid Tucker, a 49-year-old male from Cary, NC, tragically lost his life on February 12, 2004. He was a dedicated investigator with the Wake County Sheriff's Office and had previously served as a United States Marshal for the Eastern District of North Carolina. On the day of his death, Investigator Tucker was responding to reports of shots being fired. He observed a suspect, who was on felony probation, firing a shotgun in a field.
