Douglas Greenwood, a 61-year-old resident of Greenlawn, NY, tragically took his own life on December 12, 2017. Greenwood was a former NYPD captain and a 9/11 first responder who had been battling severe respiratory illnesses and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of his exposure to toxic dust at Ground Zero.
