In the early morning hours of May 6, 2025, the quiet community of Ontario, New York, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of a local resident. James S. Sharpstene, a 61-year-old male, was found deceased inside his home on Brookway Crescent. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at the residence at approximately 1:50 a.m. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Mr. Sharpstene had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his torso.
