In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 25, 2020, Robert Black, a 28-year-old Black male from Brooklyn, New York, was fatally shot. The incident occurred in a building on Rockaway Avenue in the Brownsville neighborhood. Black had been on his way home from a party when he made a stop at the location where the shooting took place. He sustained gunshot wounds to his hand and torso.
