Peter John Figoski, a 47-year-old veteran officer of the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 12, 2011, in Brooklyn, New York. Officer Figoski was responding to a robbery call on Pine Street at approximately 2:00 a.m. when he was ambushed and shot in the face by a suspect.
