In the early morning hours of June 26, 2016, a resident of Brooklyn, New York, 30-year-old Dion James, a Black/African American male, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Union Street in the Crown Heights neighborhood. James was in the company of his wife at the time of the tragic event.
