On a Sunday evening in Brooklyn, New York, the life of 28-year-old Eryk Ford, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire. On November 8, 2020, in the Crown Heights neighborhood, Ford was shot multiple times, sustaining wounds to his torso and legs near the intersection of Ralph Avenue and Lincoln Place. Police responded to a 911 call around 7:30 p.m. and found Ford grievously injured. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, but the medical staff could not save him, and he was pronounced dead.
