In a tragic turn of events during a dice game in Queens, New York, 33-year-old Christopher Joshua McKnight was shot and killed on the evening of March 9, 2021. The altercation, which turned deadly, took place in the Hollis neighborhood.
The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. when an argument erupted during the game. It is reported that McKnight was winning when one of the other players, Rodney Dunn, brandished a firearm.
Dunn proceeded to rob McKnight at gunpoint, taking money and other personal items from his pockets. As McKnight began to walk away from the scene, the situation escalated dramatically.
Mark Watson, another participant in the game, then took the gun from Dunn and fired multiple shots at McKnight. One of the bullets struck McKnight in the torso, causing a fatal injury to his aorta. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation by the New York City Police Department, Mark Watson was arrested. Subsequently, Rodney Dunn was also taken into custody. Both men were charged in connection with the murder of Christopher McKnight. Mark Watson and Rodney Dunn were later sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for their roles in the crime.
