During the street brawl, a man named Arnold Oliver, who was 24, allegedly shot Jamal
Smith. In a swift and brutal retaliation for his brother's shooting, Wayne Smith, also 28, is said to have then shot Arnold Oliver. Both Jamal Smith and Arnold Oliver were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, but tragically, both men were pronounced dead.
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement took Wayne Smith into custody. He was subsequently charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
