Death by Force

On the evening of March 30, 2024, at approximately 8:53 p.m., NYPD officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at East 187th Street and Tiebout Avenue in the Bronx. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims: 25-year-old Frankelis Tavarez with a gunshot wound to the chest, and a 23-year-old man shot in the stomach and buttocks. Both were transported to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, where Tavarez was pronounced dead; the 23-year-old was listed in stable condition.
