On a grim Thanksgiving morning in the Bronx, a 33-year-old man, Michael Roberts, was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his torso. The discovery was made on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at approximately 10:30 a.m. at 1710 Hoe Avenue.
Police responded to a 911 call about a male in need of assistance and, upon their arrival, found Roberts unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported him to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
In the wake of the shooting, an investigation was launched by the New York Police Department. The inquiries led to the apprehension of two individuals in connection with the death of Michael Roberts. Jermaine Johnson, 49, and Tamula Cheatam, 39, were subsequently arrested. The specific charges brought against Johnson and Cheatam were not immediately detailed.
