In the Bronx on a Saturday morning in June, a call to 911 reported an assault in progress. Police from the 42nd Precinct arrived at 1007-09 E. 174th Street to find 26-year-old Kasiem Johnson unconscious and unresponsive. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his neck.

Emergency medical services transported Johnson to St. Barnabas Hospital, but his injury was too severe, and he was pronounced deceased. The investigation into his death is ongoing, and as of yet, no arrests have been made in co ...
