In the Bronx on a Saturday morning in June, a call to 911 reported an assault in progress. Police from the 42nd Precinct arrived at 1007-09 E. 174th Street to find 26-year-old Kasiem Johnson unconscious and unresponsive. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his neck.
