On April 17, 2017, Joseph Fields, aged 28, was fatally shot in the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Fields at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. This incident was classified as a homicide, and the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office later confirmed the identity and cause of death following an autopsy.
