On June 19, 2017, 23-year-old African American male Talmadge Blaine Scott Jr. was fatally shot in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred on North Roman Street, leaving the community in shock over the loss of a young life to gun violence. Talmadge, affectionately known as "Tal," was the son of Michele Lewis and Talmadge Scott Sr., and he was survived by his sister, Summer Scott, along with numerous relatives and friends who cherished him deeply.
