On a Wednesday in the autumn of 2008, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Capitol Heights, Maryland. David Jamal Harper, a 27-year-old father, was the victim of fatal gun violence on September 24th of that year. He left behind three children: two sons, Dashia and David, and a daughter, D'Nia.

David was the beloved son of Oscar Harper, Jr. and the late Veronica Rogers. His grandmothers, Almarie Harper and Rose Rogers, and his grandfather, Oscar Harper, Sr., also survived him. Re ...
