On the night of November 4, 2019, 19-year-old Trey Scotland was fatally shot in the Lake Arbor community near Bowie, Maryland. Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a call around 10:45 p.m. and found Scotland in a car suffering from a gunshot wound.
