Javon Washington, a 33-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the night of May 5, 2022, in Bowie, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. as Washington was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Enterprise Road and Annapolis Road. While he was waiting in his vehicle, a black SUV pulled up alongside him, and an occupant of the SUV fired multiple shots, striking Washington.
Following the shooting, Washington was privately transported to a local hospital for
treatment of his injuries. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. The Prince George's County Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into the shooting. Detectives began working to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the fatal drive-by shooting and to determine a motive for the attack.
In an effort to generate leads, authorities announced a reward of up to $25,000 for any information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
