In the early morning hours of December 14, 2019, the life of 31-year-old Stefon Hagans was tragically cut short. At approximately 2 a.m., deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office were called to the 1700 block of Dale Lane in Salisbury, Maryland, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Hagans suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Stefon, a Salisbury native and a 2007 graduate of James M. Bennett High School, was a father to three children. He was remembered by friends and family for his ready smile and laughter. In the community, he was known as someone who was always pleasant. Formerly, he had been employed as a custodian for the Wicomico County Board of Education and had also worked at Perdue, Inc. His death left his family, including his parents and siblings, grappling with unanswered questions and profound grief.
The investigation into the death of Stefon Hagans was immediately launched by the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold, and no arrests have been made in connection with his murder. Over the years, law enforcement has repeatedly appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
