In the late afternoon of July 15, 2025, the life of 24-year-old DaJuad Rae’heim Townsend of Salisbury, Maryland, was tragically cut short. Known affectionately as 'Jy' to his family and friends, he was a man described as having a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room. That evening, however, a call reporting shots fired sent Salisbury Police Department officers to a residence in the 600 block of Smith Street around 5:35 p.m.
