In the winter of 2015, a violent altercation on a Greenville, South Carolina road tragically cut short the life of 33-year-old Nathan Lee Crouch. A resident of Taylors, the White / Caucasian male became embroiled in a dispute on Perry Road that ended in gunfire. On the evening of December 27, 2015, deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene. They discovered Crouch inside a residence on that same road, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
Despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect. Authorities identified Marqual Devine Griffin, a 24-year-old from Symbolic Court, as the individual who had fired the fatal shot during the altercation. Less than two weeks later, on January 4, 2016, Griffin was taken into custody by law enforcement. He faced serious charges for his alleged role in Crouch's death, including murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Following his arrest, Griffin was held without bond at the Greenville County Detention Center as the legal process against him began.
