On August 31, 2024, 17-year-old Andre "Dre" Udonus Nicholson was fatally shot during an attempted armed robbery at the Mulberry Court Apartments in Greenville, South Carolina. Nicholson, along with 18-year-old Corey Russ and another unidentified individual, allegedly planned to steal a rifle from a 16-year-old resident. During the confrontation, Nicholson was shot multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
