In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, a domestic disturbance call led Greenville County Sheriff's deputies to the Greenville Arms Apartments, where they found 32-year-old Joshua Jackson suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency services transported Jackson to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after 12:15 p.m. that day. The coroner's office confirmed the time of the shooting was approximately 6:30 a.m.
