In the late hours of a September evening in Greenville, South Carolina, a long-simmering feud tragically boiled over, claiming the life of 23-year-old Treveion Diswan Lamarr Anderson. On September 23, 2022, Anderson was at World Cup Billiards when he encountered three other men. Animosity, rooted in a 'longstanding grudge' one of the men held against him, hung heavy in the air.
Sensing the escalating tension, Anderson attempted to leave, heading towards his vehicle.
However, before he could safely depart, the situation turned violent. The three men allegedly opened fire, striking Anderson. In the chaos, two other individuals were also wounded as they reportedly tried to shield other passengers in a car from the barrage of bullets.
A vehicle, riddled with bullet holes, attempted to transport the gravely wounded Anderson to a hospital. They were forced to pull over, unable to make it to the emergency room. Paramedics who responded to the scene found Anderson deceased. The two other victims were transported to a hospital for their injuries.
In the days that followed, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office made arrests in connection with the fatal shooting. Three men, Vondelta Hakheem Ballenger, Felton Davon Smith, and Steven Huntley Currie, were taken into custody. They each faced charges of murder, along with a host of other counts related to the incident that cut short the life of Treveion Anderson.
