In the city of Greenville, South Carolina, a life was tragically cut short in the fall of 2021. Demarcus Anerio Martin, a 28-year-old Black male who also identified as a transgender woman named Marquiisha Lawrence, was found deceased in his home on Loop Street on November 5th. The cause of his death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, leading the Greenville County Coroner's Office to rule his death a homicide.
