In the winter of 2014, a birthday celebration in Greenville, South Carolina, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 22-year-old Javario Santique Brooks. On the night of Monday, February 3rd, gunshots erupted at a party being held at a mobile home, striking Brooks in the abdomen. He was rushed to Greenville Memorial Trauma Center, but tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the morning of Tuesday, February 4, 2014.
