Vijaykumar Patel, a 57-year-old convenience store owner in Sumter, South Carolina, was tragically killed on November 24, 2017. Patel was shot and killed just before 7 p.m. on that Friday when two masked men armed with handguns entered his grocery store on Manning Avenue. The assailants ordered two customers to the ground before at least one of them began firing, resulting in Patel's death at the scene. The customers were unharmed.
