Ocie Rivers, an 87-year-old Korean War veteran, passed away on January 2, 2018, in Florence, South Carolina. Born on June 23, 1930, in Florence County, Rivers was known for his gentle demeanor and passion for music, having played the bass guitar and sung with several gospel groups. He served honorably in the United States Army and later worked in the cement trade and as a landscaper.
