A 28 year old Zaxby's manager is shot and killed at work in Florence, SC In the quiet, early morning hours of May 9, 2015, in Florence, South Carolina, tragedy befell a young family man. Ivory Henry III, a 28-year-old African-American male, was diligently working an overnight shift as a manager at a Zaxby's restaurant on West Lucas Street. Known to his loved ones as a kind, humble, and sweet-spirited individual, he was a devoted husband and a loving father to four young children.
On this particular night, he had volunteered to work at a different Zaxby's location than his usual one.
The last employee departed from the restaurant at approximately 1:20 a.m., leaving Henry alone to close up. At some point after, an unknown individual or individuals entered the establishment. The restaurant was robbed, and during the commission of this crime, Ivory Henry III was shot multiple times. The following morning, at around 8:13 a.m., the morning manager arrived to open the restaurant and made the grim discovery of Henry's body.
Investigators believe the assailant or assailants gained entry either through an unlocked door or that Henry may have let them in, suggesting he may have known his killer. Surveillance footage from a nearby truck stop captured a red truck or SUV that authorities believe could have been a getaway vehicle.
