In the early morning hours of September 14, 2022, the life of 45-year-old William Ewell was tragically cut short in Florence, South Carolina. Ewell, a Black male, was discovered shot inside his vehicle on Prout Drive. The Florence Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 6:45 a.m. He was quickly transported to a local hospital where he was ultimately pronounced dead. The Florence County Coroner confirmed that Ewell's death was the result of a shooting.
