In the quiet early morning hours of June 28, 2026, the life of 22-year-old Zae'kwon Lataveon Washington of Florence, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. The young Black male was at the Purple City Club, a nightclub on National Avenue in Darlington County, when gunfire erupted. Deputies were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting, and upon their arrival, they discovered the grim outcome of the violence that had transpired.
