In the early morning hours of April 23, 2021, the life of 17-year-old NyJohn Te'Andre Galbreath was tragically cut short in Florence, South Carolina. A Black male, Galbreath was inside a vehicle on Howe Springs Road when shots were fired into it at approximately 12:40 a.m. When deputies from the Florence County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, they discovered Galbreath deceased.
The Florence County Coroner's Office officially identified Galbreath, and the case was promptly
classified as a homicide. Investigators began to piece together the events of that fatal morning, turning their attention to a vehicle of interest that was seen in the vicinity of the shooting. Authorities released a description of the car, a 1990-1998 white Lexus with a gold or beige trim around the base and a noticeably darker, possibly black, driver's side door, urging the public for any information that could lead to its whereabouts.
Despite the active investigation and the circulation of the vehicle's description, information regarding any suspects or arrests in the case of NyJohn Galbreath's death has not been publicly released. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek answers and justice for the teenager whose life was taken so suddenly and violently. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young man, while the circumstances surrounding his death remain unresolved.
