In the early evening hours of June 4, 2014, in Florence, South Carolina, 33-year-old Edward Windham was riding his moped through the Tara Village subdivision. As he approached the intersection of Candy and Leigh lanes, the sound of gunshots shattered the neighborhood's calm. When residents emerged from their homes, they were met with a tragic scene: Windham, slumped over his moped, had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
