In the winter of 2019, a domestic altercation in Florence, South Carolina, ended in tragedy, claiming the life of Antonio Bacote, a 44-year-old Black male. On the evening of December 6th, at the Country Squire Mobile Home Park, what began as a dispute escalated to fatal violence. Bacote was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
