In the spring of 2020, the life of Christopher Daniel Mayfield Sr., a 42-year-old man from Chester, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the night of Friday, May 15, 2020, officers from the Chester Police Department responded to a call of shots fired near the York Street Apartments. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mayfield suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
