On the morning of December 17, 2020, a fatal shooting occurred in Lugoff, South Carolina, prompting a school lockdown and a swift police response. The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. at a residence located at 1420 Fort Jackson Road. The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a shooting at that address. Due to the proximity of Doby’s Mill Elementary School, the school was temporarily placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
