On February 7, 2013, the bodies of 39-year-old Misty D. Cole and 43-year-old Shannon D. James were discovered in an apartment building on South Pacific Street in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Officers from the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the scene late that Thursday night after receiving reports of gunshots and a man fleeing the area.
