On August 12, 1977, a tragic double homicide occurred in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, claiming the life of 58-year-old Mary Evelyn Alexander Parsh. Mary, a female resident of the area, was at her home on Koch Street when an intruder broke in, believing the residence was occupied by a woman living alone. The situation escalated when Mary’s 27-year-old daughter, Brenda Parsh, arrived at the house, surprising the assailant who was lying in wait.
