Ja'Mariel La'Nique Tanksley, a one-year-old from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, tragically lost her life on March 12, 2018. Ja'Mariel was at a babysitter's house while her mother worked an extra shift at a nursing home. During this time, an argument broke out between the babysitter and her brother, who had been drinking heavily. The situation escalated, and shots were fired, resulting in Ja'Mariel being fatally shot in the head. She was only 377 days old.
