The events surrounding the death of Lana Durham unfolded on the afternoon of January 26, 2019, in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Law enforcement officials were initially dispatched to a private property following a report regarding what was believed to be a vehicle accident. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a vehicle with a female occupant in the driver's seat.
It became immediately apparent that the situation was not a traffic collision, as the woman, identified as 56-year-old Lana Annette Durham, had sustained fatal injuries inconsistent with a crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators quickly secured the area to determine the nature of the incident.
A subsequent search of the immediate vicinity led authorities to the discovery of a second body nearby on the same property. This individual was identified as 66-year-old Joseph Job.
