In a tragic turn of events on a late Wednesday evening in Kansas City, Missouri, a 31-year-old man named Carvonn R. Williams was fatally shot. The incident unfolded in the 3700 block of 56th Street, where Williams, a local rap artist known as King Crazy, was found sprawled on a front porch and died at the scene.
According to police, the female resident of the home told them that she and Williams were acquainted.
He had reportedly been at her house earlier that evening but was asked to leave because he allegedly possessed drugs. Later, the woman heard loud banging and knocking at her front door. Unable to see who it was, she armed herself with a firearm.
Frightened by the man kicking in her front door, the homeowner discharged her weapon several times. When police arrived to investigate the disturbance, they discovered Williams on the porch. The woman was taken in for questioning by investigators but was subsequently released as the investigation continued. His death marked the 26th homicide in the city that year.
