On April 20, 2023, 24-year-old Nehemiah Newton was fatally shot outside a residence in Raytown, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. Responding to reports of gunfire, police discovered Newton in the driveway, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses recounted hearing an argument followed by rapid gunfire, and observed a struggle involving Newton, Jay'shaun D. Jones, and another individual.
