On January 31, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Brighton Avenue and 24th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old D'mitri Carr inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were called; however, Carr was pronounced dead at the scene before they could render aid.
