On September 25, 2016, 25-year-old Torrence Evans was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri, just one day before his birthday. The incident occurred on a Sunday morning in the 5600 block of Hardesty Avenue. Evans, a father of three and the front man for a family musical group known as 'The Stable,' had returned to the city to celebrate his upcoming birthday when he was targeted. Police responding to the scene found him deceased in the street after being fired upon multiple times.
