On July 26, 2013, Christopher Hart, 25, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, was fatally shot in a residence on Locust Avenue. The assailant, identified as 27-year-old Sidney Muller, confronted Hart and another individual, Todd Amos, 29, over a $10,000 drug debt related to pills. During the confrontation, Muller shot and killed both Hart and Amos inside the house.
As Muller exited the residence, he encountered Freddy Swiger, 70, and his son Fred, 47, who were delivering newspapers in the area.
